Your Opportunity, Your Team
- The Vendor Compliance Specialist is a key member of the Ballard Designs team responsible for ensuring vendors are properly onboarded and compliant with company, legal, and fulfillment requirements. This role supports seamless vendor integration and shipping processes across inbound and outbound operations.
- This is a proactive, data-driven role that manages multiple vendors across product categories, ensuring compliance with EDI, transportation, import, and regulatory standards while identifying risks and supporting continuous improvement.
Where you will Work
- This role is hybrid and will require you to be onsite in the Atlanta, GA corporate office 3-5 days per month.
What You’ll Do
- Manage end-to-end vendor onboarding, including vendor setup, EDI integration, and required documentation such as Certificates of Insurance.
- Oversee vendor compliance with import regulations, testing requirements, and company quality and compliance standards across product categories.
- Maintain vendor records, the Vendor Compliance Manual, and ensure vendors are trained on documentation, labeling, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Prop 65, CPSC, Fish & Wildlife, URN).
- Partner with vendors, sourcing teams, transportation, and fulfillment centers to resolve compliance issues, support receiving/ASN accuracy, and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Monitor vendor performance through scorecards, manage chargebacks for noncompliance (late shipments, freight, or product issues), and support cross-functional teams with process improvements and compliance initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform well under pressure while meeting deadlines
- Experience in compliance, EDI, or supply chain operations (direct-to-consumer preferred); knowledge of import compliance, U.S. Customs regulations, and Incoterms a plus
