Vendor Business Manager – Modern Infrastructure (X3 Team)

About the Team

This role is part of Ingram Micro’s Modern Infrastructure X3 organization, supporting a diverse portfolio of 35–40 vendors across servers, storage, data center technologies, and other modern infrastructure solutions.

In this position, you will directly manage approximately 20 strategic vendor relationships, driving growth and maximizing value across the category.

Position Overview

The Vendor Business Manager (VBM) is responsible for shaping and executing the go‑to‑market GTM strategy for a defined set of vendors within the Modern Infrastructure category. Leveraging data-driven insights, you will build multi‑vendor strategies that align with Ingram Micro’s objectives and strengthen engagement across our Xvantage platform.

You will serve as a trusted partner to key vendors, driving business performance, optimizing financial outcomes, and ensuring seamless collaboration across sales, marketing, supply chain, and platform teams. This role requires strong business acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the infrastructure and platform technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Financial Leadership

  • Own the GTM strategy for assigned vendors, including sales, marketing, pricing, and inventory tactics to achieve Ingram Micro’s business objectives.
  • Manage full P&L accountability for assigned vendors or category segments, ensuring strong financial performance and profitability.
  • Influence category strategy through deep understanding of vendor technologies, market dynamics, and competitive trends.

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned vendors, fostering strong, collaborative partnerships.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities, new product introductions, and strategic initiatives to expand category presence.
  • Lead vendor negotiations to secure competitive terms, pricing, and agreements that support mutual success.

Performance Management & Execution

  • Monitor and report on vendor performance, ensuring alignment with shared goals and KPIs.
  • Partner with supply chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting, inventory optimization, and timely product availability.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute campaigns, promotions, and demand‑generation initiatives.
  • Leverage business insights and market intelligence to anticipate customer needs and identify emerging opportunities.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of the platform and infrastructure technology ecosystem, including cloud, SaaS, and modern data center solutions.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proven business acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities and drive category growth.
  • Results‑oriented mindset with a history of meeting or exceeding business objectives.
  • Strategic thinker capable of building and executing comprehensive vendor business plans.
  • Customer‑focused approach with a commitment to delivering high‑value solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel for vendor meetings, industry events, and strategic engagements.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required;
  • Minimum of five years of relevant functional experience, including at least three years in vendor management, category management, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable business results and managing complex vendor relationships.

Hybrid work structure

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $88,700.00 - $150,800.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
