Major Duties:
Qualifications: To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Expert knowledge in Contingency Planning Guidance, Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF) and Joint Strategic Campaign Plan (JSCP) directives/policy for supporting CCMDs, military operations and exercises. Quantifiable and demonstrable experience leveraging the Joint Planning Process (or Service Planning Process) to plan sustainment operations in a Combatant Command, Joint Task Force, Corps, Fleet, Wing, Marine Expeditionary Force or with Allies/Partners across the spectrum of campaigning (competition) and wartime (contingency) operations. Expert knowledge and experience with Global Force Management (GFM) policies, procedures, systems as well as Joint Operations Planning and Execution Systems (JOPES) for supporting development of operation plans, orders, and Time-Phased Force and Deployment Data (TPFDD). Mastery leading a Joint Planning Groups/Operational Planning Team or ad-hoc team through the JPP to develop logistics estimate, concept of logistics support, a logistics supportability analysis, support plan and plan assessments; identifying sustainment requirements, shortfalls and risks, and mitigations strategies that are presented for senior leader decisions. Demonstrable expertise in identifying warfighter sustainment requirements through analytical and statistical forecasting and planning methodologies that link to the development of contingency sustainment requirements (for US Joint Forces and Allies and Partners utilizing US manufactured weapons systems), support long range strategies to identify mission capabilities, formulate assessments, identify problems, recommend mitigation and conduct logistics supportability analysis. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
