We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a Parts Leader to join our growing Operations Team here at Holman UK. For the first 6 months you’ll need to spend at least 5 days a week in the office before we move you over to our hybrid model of Tues-Thurs in the office whilst working from home on a Monday and Friday, so please bear this in mind when applying. This is a permanent opportunity, and the salary is circa £37,000.00 per year dependent on qualifications and experience.

We are looking for a self-starter with experience of working with parts to help improve vehicle off road dwell time due to parts related issues. 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Parts Sourcing: As required identify, source, and procure parts for a wide range of fleet vehicles and specialist equipment, ensuring compatibility and quality.
  • Technical Support: Act as a subject matter expert for parts-related queries, advising internal teams on specifications, alternatives, and availability.
  • Inventory Oversight: Monitor supplier stock levels where possible, including usage trends, and replenishment needs to maintain optimal inventory across sites.
  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, lead times, and product reliability.
  • System Accuracy: Ensure all parts data is accurately recorded in fleet management systems, including part numbers, descriptions, and usage logs.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all sourced parts meet safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to align parts availability with service schedules and project timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend process enhancements and cost-saving opportunities based on parts usage analysis and industry trends.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned

Ideally, you’ll have workshop knowledge, couple with demonstrable and detailed knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics, preferably extending to include HGV and ancillary equipment fitted to vehicles. You will be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications - primarily Outlook and Excel. Qualifications or good knowledge around vehicle compliance requirements and full appreciation of the necessity of vehicles and equipment being compliant. 

What are we looking for?

Education and/or Training:

  • Technical vehicle related qualifications such as City & Guilds or equivalent
  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
  • Proficient in inventory and fleet management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred)

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong experience in parts sourcing or inventory management within fleet, automotive, or heavy equipment sector
  • Deep understanding of vehicle components, specialist equipment, and maintenance requirements
  • Reviewing and improving processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy

  • Comfortable making day to day decisions autonomously
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Plans and prioritizes work efficiently and effectively
  • Adjusts quickly to new or changing work environment
  • Works within budgetary/financial objectives set by management
  • Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgement

Communicating & Influencing Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Interprets customer needs and assesses requirements to meet needs
