Who we’re looking for: 

We are seeking a Vehicle Inspection Supervisor with experience in vehicle inspections and quality control. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a vehicle inspector, or comes with experience as automotive apprentice or in a related operations role. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, VLC Operations, the Supervisor will lead our Vehicle Inspector team.

  • Proactive.  You identify opportunities for improvement, and take initiative to enhance the quality and efficiency of the Vehicle Inspection team.

  • Collaborative. You will work closely with the Sr. Manager, VLC Operations and leaders in other VLC departments.

You Will:

  • Responsible for the overall management of the Vehicle Inspector department, including planning and organizing department workflow to meet SLAs. 

  • Supervise and provide mentorship for Vehicle Inspector team; including allocation of assignments, monitoring production, and performance management; ensuring the department is properly staffed for volume 

  • Responsible for developing teams capable of delivering exceptional inspection services.  Oversee the direct efforts to train, motivate, coach, counsel, and mentor VIS, performing real-time coaching as needed.

  • Complete inspection of vehicles and ensure adherence to the defined program for the customer, including completing road test if required by contract or inspection type

  • Capture data accurately on a mobile device, work comfortably with software and technology.

  • Monitor inspection requests via the portal & established communication channels, ensuring vehicles are sale-ready.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations by modeling and communicating safe practices and addressing areas of concern in a timely fashion.

  • May be required to travel offsite; or to work evenings and weekends.

Must Haves:

  • 3+ years experience in completing vehicle inspections at OPENLANE, or equivalent operational experience  

  • Experience / Knowledge of the automotive industry required

  • Valid Drivers’ license is required

  • Confident working in a technology focused environment

Nice to Have’s:  

  • 3-5 years' supervisory experience 

  • Tech-savvy, familiarity with Google Suite is an asset

  • Ability to drive both standard & automatic transmissions

  • Familiarity with AMS, VTrace, or other OPENLANE systems is an asset

  • Experience working outside in all weather conditions

Compensation Range of

Annual Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 CAD

(Depending on experience, skill set, qualifications, and other relevant factors.)

Bonus Range

Target Bonus Range: $250.00 - $750.00 CAD Monthly
