Job Description Summary:

A. JOB SUMMARY: 

Correctively and preventively maintain utilities of equipment to ensure their availability and readability for production. Maintaining all the assets in the plant for better utilization by fulfilling all company procedures and requirements for Quality, safety, Environment, loss prevention and GMP’s. 

B. KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Project Planning and Execution: 

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing utility projects to ensure uninterrupted services and efficient operations.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

  • Solve complex challenges related to utility systems, make data-driven decisions, and implement solutions to optimize performance and minimize downtime.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and other departments to align utility management with organizational goals and enhance overall facility performance.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to utility staff to foster a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Process Improvement and Innovation: 

  • Drive innovation in utility management by identifying opportunities for process enhancements, implementing best practices, and exploring new technologies for efficiency gains.

Technical or Customer-Facing Responsibilities:

  • Engage in technical tasks such as troubleshooting complex utility issues, overseeing contractor work, or liaising with customers on utility-related matters.

Budgeting and Cost Management

C. FINANCIAL/ JOB SCOPE:

  • Coordinates all facilities and utilities projects requiring mechanical or electrical installation. 
  • Review/compare different offers from different suppliers/contractors for the projects, negotiate for final prices and specifications, agree on a specific contractor/supplier, issuing Purchase order in favor of winning supplier/contractor and service providers

D. ORGANIZATION IMPACT/ INFLUENCE:

  • Daily interaction with the maintenance manager as a direct manager and department head.  
  • Daily interaction with the maintenance technicians to coordinate the execution of the maintenance plan. 
  • Frequent interaction with Production planning to plan the execution of PM program. 
  • Daily interaction with the continuous improvement coordinator to track the root causes of the problems
  • Daily interaction with all functions and departments requesting maintenance activity in their areas.

Managing engineering technicians

Contractor management

Hiring new employees

Managing performance

F. RELATED JOB REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in utility system design, maintenance, and troubleshooting, familiarity with SCADA systems, energy management software, and knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Certification in Utility Management or Energy Efficiency is a plus.
  • Experience Level: Minimum of 5 years in facilities management, utility operations, or a related field. Experience in project management and team leadership is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, adaptability to changing environments, and a keen focus on safety and compliance.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of utility systems, energy conservation practices, sustainability initiatives, and familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.

G. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field

I. ANALYSIS:

  • Breakdowns that may vary and requires root cause analysis in order prevent the re occurrence and ensure the production continuity. 
  • Cultural background and commitment of Human Element available for operational jobs. People are essential to obtain the results and people must be always motivated and committed to company objectives. New approaches must be taken to keep them motivated and working as a team. It’s a continuous challenging environment.   
  • Every new installation and new technology bring new problems that did not exist before. Principles not considered in the design affect quality and operations efficiency and cultural resistance to change are factors that make project management a creative activity. 
  • Analyzing and monitoring repairs and maintenance budget.  
  • Maintenance KBI’s such as: PM vs CM, impact on OEE2, MUV, Overtime analysis, productivity, etc. 

J. JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING:

  • Decisions on maintenance related issues in the manufacturing or in the administrative area that can lead to production stoppage or other activities (due to risks to safety or need of technical intervention).   
  • Prioritization of corrective/preventive maintenance activities based on impact on Quality, Safety, Security and Environment 
  • Planning, sched`uling and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities. 
  • Maintaining spare parts inventory level, policy and composition. 
  • Selection or termination of maintenance suppliers 
  • Capital budget planning and involvement. 
  • Recommend and suggest ideas for Master Plan Development.

L. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some trips to equipment suppliers, technical exhibitions and Other CPS plants.
