Position Summary
Do you have experience in fin tech or supply chain tech and a passion for solving hard problems? Walmart is building a small but mighty team to work at the intersection of accounts payable and supply chain, addressing potential issues early in the Inventory lifecycle to ensure accurate and timely payment to our suppliers. We’ll gather data and form hypotheses, rapidly build POCs, then test and learn. We’ll find agenting solutions that pull data from disparate sources to streamline complex business processes. When we find what works, we’ll grow our team and build for Walmart scale.
As a Staff, Software Engineer you will serve as a strong, hands-on individual contributor, actively engaging in coding, automation, and the deployment of both POCs and scalable solutions. This role demands direct, practical involvement in defining technical strategy, implementing features, and ensuring system performance, scalability, and maintainability. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams while setting a standard for technical excellence through hands-on development. Additionally, the Staff Software Engineer will champion the adoption of emerging GenAI frameworks and best practices within the organization.
What You'll Do -
Collaborate with business teams and product managers to understand project requirements.

Work with team members to arrive at optimal solutions involving key stakeholders.

Work closely with architects to come up with high-level and low-level designs.

Develop, unit test, and deliver software components accordingly.

Contribute to Operational Excellence and Engineering Excellence initiatives.

Create tools and systems to boost team productivity.
What You'll Bring -
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, distributed, and high-performance software solutions.

Experience in deploying to cloud services like Azure or GCP.

Skilled in conceptualizing and implementing agentic AI systems that translate complex intelligence into automated, scalable decision frameworks aligned with strategic outcomes.

Bellevue, Washington US-11663: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
