HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT
Disease and Product Information:
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic, inflammatory condition of the large intestine characterized by persistent inflammation, bowel urgency, abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, and unpredictable flare‑ups. As an autoimmune disease, UC can significantly impact daily life, affecting a patient’s comfort, confidence, and long‑term health. Many patients cycle through multiple therapies—such as 5‑ASAs, steroids, immunomodulators, JAK inhibitors, or biologics—before finding adequate relief.
Velsipity (etrasimod) is Pfizer’s once‑daily, oral S1P receptor modulator approved for adults with moderately to severely active UC. Unlike biologic therapies that require injections or infusions, Velsipity offers patients a convenient oral option designed to help reduce inflammation in the gut by preventing certain immune cells from migrating to the intestines. Clinical trials have shown meaningful improvements in symptoms, including reductions in bathroom urgency, rectal bleeding, and overall disease severity, with some patients achieving clinical remission as early as 12 weeks.
Positioned as a first‑line advanced therapy option for appropriate patients, Velsipity combines a strong efficacy profile with a favorable safety profile, making it an important treatment choice for individuals seeking a non‑biologic alternative. As a rapidly growing brand within Pfizer’s Inflammation & Immunology portfolio, Velsipity plays a key role in transforming the UC treatment landscape and improving the lives of patients managing this challenging chronic condition. Velsipity was FDA-approved in October 2023.
For the 12-month secondment, the secondee will be working on several high-impact projects to help achieve the goal of growing Velsipity's share of first-line, advanced therapy treatment options by motivating consumers to feel comfortable stepping up from conventional therapy to advanced therapy and requesting an oral option.
Project Description:
It is an exciting time to join the Velsipity Consumer Team, with development of a new branded creative campaign underway and a planned launch at the end of Q2. As part of the campaign launch preparation, the secondee will lead the end‑to‑end development and execution of critical consumer initiatives, owning key elements of the omnichannel activation. This includes ensuring seamless pull‑through of the new creative platform into a cohesive, high‑impact experience across priority channels such as the website, point of care, patient education (print), and pre‑initiation touchpoints.
The branded website is a critical engine of the consumer experience, and this role will play a central part in shaping its future.
Bring the new consumer campaign to life across the site—translating headlines, visuals, claims, and calls to action into a seamless, on‑brand digital experience
Define the strategy, structure, and content vision for a potential Patient Ambassador Hub
Refresh access‑related messaging to reflect the latest coverage, affordability, and pull‑through guidance
Lead the end‑to‑end migration of the branded siteto Zenith, partnering closely with agency and internal teams to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption
This role also offers a unique opportunity to lead execution of the “For Me” campaign, simplifying the VelsipityForMe program through clear, patient‑centric messaging that highlights benefits, reduces initiation barriers, and drives enrollment across website, social, and point‑of‑care channels. This includes activating a cohesive omnichannel plan by developing and optimizing assets, integrating real patient insights, and partnering cross‑functionally to improve engagement, understanding, and overall program uptake. Additionally, the secondee will partner with the HCP and Access teams to optimize communication of required testing at or near the start of treatment.
