Work in partnership with Food Access Coordinator to manage all farm production, including soil preparation, disease, weed and irrigation management.
Responsible for seeding, planting, harvesting, and washing of produce.
Work with Food Access Coordinator to organize the week’s harvests and prepare for CSA distribution and Mobile Markets events.
Assist in packaging, delivery and pick up of CSA shares.
Responsible for keeping BSCW farm sites in manicured condition. Farmer will beautify site by planting flowers and keeping sites free of debris.
Using and maintaining all farm equipment/supplies and infrastructure including landscaping equipment, tillers, irrigation systems, BCS and greenhouse cooling systems.
Oversee and provide instruction to BSCW’s Clean and Green trainees, volunteer groups and educational groups working on urban farm sites, in partnership with other BSCW’s staff.
Responsible for management of compost systems at BSCW Urban Farm sites.
Cultivate accessible and inviting farm spaces for the community to explore, ask questions and engage in urban farming.
Develop strategies to maximize farm production, increase educational opportunities, and further our reach as distributor of food.

Employment Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree: Agriculture, horticulture, botany, green industry, urban development, public health, human services, education
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
2+ years of progressive, related experience in urban farming, and landscaping
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as community engagement track record
Combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of a degree.
Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
Community meetings, neighborhood/civic association meetings
