Job Summary: This job opportunity is for an UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER, position description NGT5810400, within the 177TH WG of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 5, Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of this position is to perform preliminary analysis of long term forecasting of readiness and budgets.

Major Duties:

  • As an UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER, GS-0301-9, you will: Plans, organizes, and oversees all unit level deployment activities. Works closely with unit personnel to tailor packages as required to meet exercise and contingency deployment actions. Performs analysis activities. Analyzes the combat capability of unit through intensive evaluation of training, equipment status, manning, and unit supervision. Submits reports which reflect the unit's ability to meet wartime mission requirements. Provides technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program. Ensures personnel and equipment readiness. Advises commander on the direction, management, and operation of all aspects of unit deployment capabilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: General experience: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Specialized experience 12 months of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent and/or education or training in program experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in technical work, which includes study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.
