Leidos is seeking a Unified Communications Technical Lead to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA’s Digital Modernization Strategy.  Join one of our high performing teams responsible for building the next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces, supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month.  We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills: Strong knowledge of Avaya voice platforms, planning and executing enterprise migrations, cloud voice platforms, Fax over IP, phone provisioning, Microsoft integrations 

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to migration and platform management
  • Experience meeting and maintaining 99.999% reliability.
  • Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level engineers/technicians.
  • Experience coordinating with Telecom carriers
  • Post migration stabilization, ensuring that 99.5% of users migrate without issue
  • Planning and implementing post migration validation and support
  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.  Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
  • 12+ years of experience with telecommunications platform implementation, management and maintenance
  • Must have prior experience supporting the Social Security Administration in a technical leadership or management role supporting a business area
  • 7+ years of experience with Avaya platforms
  • 5+ years of voice network engineering
  • 3+ years managing and designing voice infrastructure
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • Must have prior experience supporting the Social Security Administration in a technical leadership or management role supporting a business area
  • Must have knowledge around:
    • Engineering and Management Processes
    • Risk Management
    • Process Improvement
    • Voice platforms (Avaya, MS Teams, etc)
    • Planning and executing large enterprise migrations/implementations
  • Career record must include the demonstrated ability to work with and independently manage a multiple skilled workforce.
  • Must be a highly motivated, self-starting team player with effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must embody a strong work ethic and willingness to work cross functionally to complete assigned tasks.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

  • Experience with cloud contact centers and migrations
  • Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.
  • Experience migrating from Avaya on-prem platforms to cloud
  • Experience managing network appliances such as Session Boarder Controllers
  • Experience with remote phone management
  • Experience with Fax over IP migration

Pay Range:

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
