Job Description:

The Biology, Genetics, and Environmental Science Programs are seeking an Undergraduate Student Services Coordinator II to provide essential support for student services, curriculum management, and office operations. This role serves as a key resource for students, faculty, and staff, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations and a positive experience for all members of our academic community. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, student-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Advising Office, managing visitors, phone calls, and email accounts.
  • Support advising appointments, office operations, and room reservations.
  • Maintain student records, run reports, and assist with curriculum processes, including course and catalog updates.
  • Communicate with students about surveys, academic updates, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with student outreach, orientation programs, and other events.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff regarding registration, degree requirements, and course policies.
  • Prepare and distribute course evaluations, compile results, and support website updates.
  • Provide administrative support for advisors and program operations.

Example of Duties
• Provides program or service support in department efforts to counsel, guide, and provide resources for students.
• Assists in the delivery of services and programs for students such as scholarship coordination, disability services, academic success programs, and resources, etc.
• Performs a variety of administrative support activities.
• Ensures documentation and records are maintained.
• May assist with coordinating events, marketing and communication, and creating resources.

Level Guidelines
• Career-level position demonstrating proficiency and knowledge of related competencies
• Works under direct to general supervision and may receive guidance on more complex assignments
• Follows established procedures for work assignments, and completes assignments which are semi-routine and may be atypical in nature
• Applies thorough knowledge to respond to inquiries and requests
• Able to resolve most problems and issues and respond to requests without escalation
• Provides guidance to students
• May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team
