Position Overview:
As a key member of the TS UK Sales Trade team, you will lead the end-to-end sales process and take direct ownership of the implementation and delivery of the full Trade product suite. Acting as Deal Principal, you will be accountable for structuring and executing transactions for clients within your scope, ensuring flawless delivery and commercial impact. You will collaborate closely with the Trade Sales Account Management team (and where needed with the Centre of Expertise - Trade Sales) to drive seamless execution, maximize client satisfaction, and identify future growth and cross-sell opportunities aligned with strategic objectives.
The product scope entails the wider products offered like the traditional trade products (bank guarantees, (stand-by) letters of credit as well as different open account working capital products (receivables, supply chain as well as inventory). These products are focused on wholesale banking clients within the Transaction Services product offering. You will be end to end responsible for TFS originations as well as Working Capital originations (receivables, supply chain as well as inventory products).
We work through our dedicated Trade teams based in different EMEA countries as well as New York and across APAC. The scope of the activities will be closely aligned with the Trade Sales CoE and the Trade Sales Account Management teams.
Key responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration with credit, legal, and sector teams to support client needs and drive scalable and compliant growth in Trade Solutions. Acting as a conduit to product management, you also drive innovation by focusing on selective differentiating themes that reinforce ING’s competitive edge and deliver scalable client impact.
The team
You will be part of the TS UK Sales team and will report directly into the Head of TS UK and functionally to the Global Head of Trade Sales in Belgium.
Roles and responsibilities
You will lead the structuring and execution of complex transactions as Deal Principal, combining commercial ownership with deep technical expertise across the full spectrum of trade products.
Be the Deal Principal in structuring and implementing Trade transactions. This goes from traditional trade products to open account working capital products (receivables, supply chain as well as inventory). You will have sales targets with linked implementation responsibilities.
Ensure smooth handover of implemented deals to the Trade Sales Account Management team for ongoing relationship management and post-deal support.
Analyse client needs, identify opportunities and work out proposals.
Organise client meetings and pitches and make sure your scope of clients is sufficiently covered across all trade products.
Be in the lead of the client interface and be responsible with the internal and external parties involved in the transactions
You are a technical expert in the matter, be the deal team leader and have experience in leading a transaction structuring process from the front row

You will also need:
To be commercially driven
a relevant experience within either securitisation, a structured finance equivalent role, a Wholesale Banking product role, a Wholesale Banking sales position or in Risk Management.
a strong background in trade finance and open account trade
a strong background in credit risk and deal structuring/-execution
excellent oral and written skills in English
an academic degree in economics, management, law, engineering or equivalent
