What is the opportunity?

As a key member of RBC Royal Trust (RT) Trust Investments Group (TIG), the Trust Investment Manager will be responsible for the construction of investment strategies and delivery of ongoing investment management, oversight and risk monitoring for trust, power of attorney/mandate and estate accounts. The Trust Investment Manager role consists of both ongoing portfolio management as well as trust fiduciary oversight for internally and externally managed accounts. The Trust Investment Manager is also responsible for acting as a key resource to all RT employees and RBC partners to provide education and support around trust investment matters.

What will you do?

  • Construct and implement investment strategies, proposals, and action plans for existing and potential clients

  • Monitor and rebalance portfolios to ensure they are managed consistently with current Investment Policy Statements and portfolio risk management strategies and policies

  • Establish trusted relationships with clients, RT employees and internal RBC partners to become a center of expertise for investment services related to trusts, power of attorney/mandate and estate accounts

  • Prepare client presentations and attend client meetings as required, including prospecting, annual reviews and ad hoc meetings with client’s, RT employees and RBC partners

  • Assist with projects that help improve oversight and prudent investment management

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or strong portfolio management background

  • University Degree (preferably in business, finance, or economics)

  • Successful completion of Level 2 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program (with willingness to work towards completion)

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice to Have  

  • Prior experience with trusts and estates

  • Willingness to travel from time to time

  • CIM Designation (Chartered Investment Manager)

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
