An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Treatment Plant Performance Manager to join Service Stream team bases in our Bendigo office.
Primarily based in the city of Bendigo, the Manager, Treatment Plant Performance will lead and manage the operation of multiple water and wastewater treatment plants throughout Central Victoria. The role will ensure the provision of high level technical expertise, whilst directing all activity necessary for the efficient and effective operation of Coliban Water’s treatment plants, ensuring the treated water quality meets all legislative, regulatory and product quality requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for treatment plant operations, including:
- Regulatory, legislative and operational compliance.
- Management of 4 geographically and functionally discrete treatment plant teams.
- facilitate technical solutions to process/treatment issues.
- Ensure the operation of the Water Treatment Plants is in accordance with the relevant Drinking Water Quality Risk Management Plan.
- Ensure the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plants is in accordance with all Licence and Product Quality requirements.
- Work closely within your peer group to ensure maintenance is coordinated with production by:
- Initiating and implementing all first level preventative maintenance programs involving the operations team.
- Ensure breakdowns and outages are attended to and resolved within priority deadlines.
- Ensuring agreed spare parts are controlled and available when required.
- Ensure that all appropriate field data is collected, assessed for accuracy, and delivers upon expectations.
- Maintain and review of treatment operations standard operating procedures.
About You

You will be a self-starter with proven experience in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams through change and delivering exceptional outcomes.
Experience required
- Minimum of 5 years water/wastewater treatment operations experience (or very similar) with experience in treatment process analysis and process and workflow optimisation.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a frontline operational area, incorporating a solid understanding of SCADA technology.
- Experienced in managing and leading large operational teams.
- Proven skills in identifying problems, analysing data and preparing business needs statements.
- Experienced in developing risk profiles and implementation of risk management strategies.
- Solid knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and asset performance criteria.
Qualifications required
- A tertiary qualification in either an Engineering or Environmental Science discipline
and/or
- Extensive experience in managing Operational Work teams, desirably in a utility or works maintenance sector

- Highly developed project management skills and the ability to manage contracts.

- Demonstrated productive performance in a team environment;
- A demonstrated ability to understand and operate necessary technical and business computer software packages including being competent in Excel, Word, Project, Power Point and Access;
- Absolute commitment to, and enthusiasm for, customer and stakeholder satisfaction;
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence
