Treasury ALM QRM Analyst - Team Lead

Global Treasury is part of the Corporate Finance organization with approximately 170 teammates worldwide. Its focus includes managing the company’s investment portfolio and funding needs, optimizing the balance sheet and net interest income (NII) and driving risk/return frameworks to manage the company’s capital position and liquidity and interest rate risk profiles.

The Asset Liability Management (ALM) team within Global Treasury is responsible for optimizing the company’s balance sheet while maximizing net interest revenue (NIR) within our risk appetite and regulatory constraints. Key functions within ALM include balance sheet and NIR forecasting and interest rate risk (IRR) management which are supported by groups focused on data analytics, balance sheet modeling and senior management and Board reporting. ALM is also responsible for coordinating the company’s deposit pricing strategy, return on capital and funds transfer pricing methodologies and balance sheet strategy. ALM works closely with other functions across Global Treasury, Finance, Risk Management and Business Units.

The key Responsibilities & Tasks Include:

The Data Analytics and NIR Back-testing team is responsible for:

• Oversight of balance sheet data acquisition, integrity and reporting within the QRM application for purpose of balance sheet forecasting and IRR measurement

• Identifying and communicating current position roll forward impacts to the NIR forecast and interest rate risk exposures

• Analyzing output and ensuring reasonability of results

• Ensuring timely preparation and delivery of ALM reporting including NIR back-testing

• Providing analytical support to drive key balance sheet initiatives

General:

• Work with data providers and internal data users to analyze business needs and provide timely support on BAU and ad-hoc requests

• Follow procedures and maintain existing processes, but also think critically around data topics and build subject matter expertise

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of current position impacts to NIR forecast and IRR metrics

• Understand ETL framework and ability to make enhancements to the framework based product requirements

• Learn new concepts and become a subject matter expert on various balance sheet and ALM processes

• Apply knowledge/skills handling complex problems and/or coordinating work which may extend beyond own area of expertise; share expertise with colleagues and other departments

• Working with other team members across ALM, Treasury, and Finance to ensure timely, accurate reporting for routine committee presentations

Education and Experience

• Minimum of postgraduate degree, preferably in Finance or related field, MBA preferred

• 5-8 Years of experience in banking, financial services. Treasury ALM related experience preferred

Skills/ Knowledge:

• Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) software experience required

• Strong background in data management, programming/SQL background a plus

• Strong quantitative aptitude/skills and experience modeling complex financial concepts

• Detail oriented and effective written and verbal communication skills

• Experience using software applications to define and solve complex business problems

• Knowledge of financial markets

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Ability to communicate complex concepts to broad audiences

• Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, work independently while maintaining attention to detail and meet deadlines in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment

• Must possess strong communication skills with ability to participate in conference calls and contribute to presentation of financial results to financial and non-financial audiences at various levels of seniority

• Solid business knowledge as it relates to the financial services industry
