About the Position
The Travel & Procurement Supervisor is responsible for daily oversight of the department’s travel and procurement team, which collectively manages all procurement, travel, and training reservations for MCAO. This team secures travel arrangements for victims and witnesses testifying in court and for detectives investigating active cases, registers employees for specialized training, and purchases a wide variety of goods and services.

We Require
- Three years of professional procurement experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
Other Requirements
- Must have the ability to obtain CAPA certification within three months of hire
- The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement.

- Supervisory experience, including reviewing staff work, writing performance evaluations, and monitoring workload and compliance.

- Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with advanced formulas and functionality such as V-LOOKUP, X-LOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, and other analytical tools.

Job Contributions
- Train, mentor, and manage the Travel & Procurement team, ensuring accurate work products, balanced workload distribution, and effective supervisory support.
- Maintain a reliable in-office presence during standard business hours to support staff and the greater Finance & Language Services team, ensure availability for supervision, and facilitate collaboration.
- Review and approve all pre‑ and/or post‑travel requests for victims, experts, eyewitnesses, and law enforcement partners, ensuring compliance with policy.
- Review and approve all employee travel and training requests, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Review and approve all post‑travel reimbursement requests, ensuring documentation is accurate and in compliance with allowable expenses.
- Create, review, and approve departmental purchase orders in accordance with organizational policy.
- Maintain tracking logs for travel, procurement, and contract activities, including requests, renewals, extensions, and cancellations.
- Serve as the P‑card administrator, overseeing card issuance, usage monitoring, reconciliations, compliance, and training.
- Serve as the liaison between MCAO and the County Office of Procurement Services, coordinating procurement actions and resolving agency procurement issues.
- Lead complex procurements for goods and contracted services, including competitive solicitations, impracticable purchases, sole source requests, and task orders.
- Create procurement proposals and scopes of work by conducting market research, gathering customer requirements, and compiling supporting data.
- Evaluate vendor solicitation responses based on qualifications, pricing, conformance to requirements, and departmental needs.
- Assess requests that fall outside policy or organizational standards and provide appropriate guidance, including explaining the deviation, advising on compliant alternatives, or identifying next steps when additional information or higher approval is required.
- Provide timely responses to occasional urgent evening and weekend travel requests, changes, and inquiries to ensure uninterrupted operational support.
Working Conditions
- Mostly office setting in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Requires extended periods of sitting while completing computer activities.
- May be required to drive a personal or County-owned vehicle to travel to and from various County locations.
- This position may be eligible for hybrid telework and alternate work schedules after a six-month training period.
