Job Summary
Engineer acts as a technical bridge between L1 Support and L2 Engineering.
This role focuses on daily network operations, troubleshooting, and service stability.
The engineer handles escalated incidents and supports enterprise connectivity services.
Responsibilities include network, security, voice, and cloud connectivity support.
The role ensures SLA compliance and continuous service availability.
Job Description
- Handle escalated incidents from Service Desk (L1) and perform root troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot network issues such as link down, latency, packet loss, and routing instability.
- Support major incidents and participate in war room activities.
- Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for customers.
- Operate and troubleshoot MPLS, HMPLS, and IPLC circuits.
- Coordinate with Telco providers for outages and performance issues.
- Configure and validate basic BGP and OSPF routing on edge devices.
- Implement and support firewall policies, NAT, and VPN connectivity.
- Support voice services, cloud connectivity, and virtual network components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Network Operations, ISP, or NOC environments.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLAN, STP, and IP subnetting.
- Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and SD-WAN.
- Experience with firewalls, NAT, DNS, DHCP, and security policies.
- Familiar with network monitoring and packet analysis tools.
- Experience supporting VPN, voice, and cloud networking solutions.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under SLA pressure.
- Preferred certifications: CCNA/CCNP, HCIA/HCIP, FCNSE/PCNSE, JNCIA, ITIL.
