Role description:
The Transport & Logistics Operations Manager is accountable for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of transport and logistics activities across the AUSPAC region, including international logistics. The role ensures the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods while supporting exceptional customer outcomes for projects, events, and core operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage transport suppliers, optimising costs and service performance, and ensuring logistics activities are delivered in line with contractual, budgetary, and compliance requirements.

  • Build strong relationships with the Customer Solutions Centre (CSC), Operations, Sales, and external partners

  • Support the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards

  • Establish strong supplier relationships and commercial agreements to improve service reliability, control costs, and maximise cost recovery

  • Oversee cross-hire sourcing to secure compliant, cost-effective solutions aligned with business and customer expectations

  • Monitor, control, and report on transport and logistics budgets, recoveries, and operating costs

  • Support the PM for projects and events by ensuring transport obligations are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements

  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Analyse operational data to drive efficiency, productivity, and service improvements

  • Lead and develop a growing team of fleet and logistics personnel

What we’re looking for

  • A tertiary qualification in logistics, business or similar or equivalent knowledge gained by experience

  • Previous experience in a similar, transport and logistics management positions

  • Strong knowledge of transport, logistics, and supply chain operations

  • Demonstrated experience in transport supplier management and cost control

  • Outstanding stakeholder relationship management skills

  • Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

  • Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver cost efficiencies

  • Sound knowledge of transport regulations and health and safety standards

  • High attention to detail with a strong quality and compliance focus

  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Advanced capability in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project

  • Experience working with ERP and logistics management systems
