Job Description
Ensure appropriate performance matrix is in place for each transactional banking staff member. Each staff member needs to have a different performance matrix that contributes to the performance of the entire business
Ensure that transactional banking team is appropriately trained and equipped to perform their responsibilities
- Own and manage transactional banking financial performance. This should be full ownership of costs and revenue (i.e.Profit and loss) of all products. This should include in-depth understanding of product costs, SLAs and services offered
- Ensure that the correct revenue is recovered across all products and manage any in-country billing processes
- Ensure that the correct mark-up is added to product costs to ensure that products are profitable. Product pricing should be approved via the appropriate forums
- Have in-depth understanding of all transactional banking products. This includes; how the product functions in the local context, systems that support it, on boarding processes, how it contributes to the transactional banking revenue and client value proposition
- Have a product strategy for each product, i.e. who to sellit to and pipeline clients
- Define and manage internal SLAs between Transactional Banking and in-country product houses (e.g. Merchant Services, Cash, Digital,Ops, etc) to ensure that they need expectations
- Ensure that all product processes are mapped on appropriate tools in a central location shared by all
- Collaborate and manage new product development. This includes developing a business case, acquiring necessary approvals (in-country and SA), defining the requirements and rules around the product and commercializing the product once it has been delivered in-country
- Assist with training in-country stakeholders on transactional banking products
- Understand the Botswana economic environment and its influence on the different business sectors
- Understand the impact of economic and client trends on the transactional banking business and recommend appropriate action to reduce impact on the performance of the transactional banking business
- Under the regulatory environment as it pertains to transactional banking and any change should be timeously communicated to relevant stakeholders to ensure that there is minimal impact to clients
- Analyze competitor transactional banking offering in Botswana.
- Understand the product, pricing structure, client value proposition and channels used to offer these solutions and recommend and implement action to counter threat of competitor
- Develop and manage SWOT analysis for the transactional banking and its impact on the First National Bank Retail
- Define and manage an appropriate in-country transactional banking structure as per the business requirement. This should be supported by appropriate job descriptions.
