About the team
Change Management & Leveraged Services team pulls together all shared functions used across the division. This includes Training & Certification as well as Recruitment and Contractor Management. As a team our aim is to provide cost benefits and scale at pace.
What you will be doing
Candidates will be asked to design learning modules on our key products as part of a training and certification programme to support a standardised approach throughout the line of business. Working closely with the rest of your team and product SME’s, who will be identifying gaps and updates needed to learning material, your role will be to develop this material into engaging learning. The candidate will need to build strong working relationships with SMEs and content owners to ensure that material is accurate and key milestones are met.
General duties & responsibilities
- Conducts and analyses training needs assessments following conventional instructional design methodologies.
- Interviews business owners, business analysts, system developers and other functional and technical personnel as part of the needs assessment.
- Develops a solid understanding of FIS products to complete task analysis and determine training requirements.
- Determines and documents appropriate instructional strategy and project scope based on a completed needs assessment.
- Reviews and accurately interprets technical documentation including use case scenarios, functional specifications, system specifications and technical specifications as they pertain to course development.
- Designs effective instructional materials, interactions, simulations and assessments to support the required instructional strategy.
- Interacts with product managers, subject-matter experts, and key stakeholders as needed to determine scope of a project and to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of training programmes.
- Uses state of the art tools and technologies, including AI for development, maintenance, production and distribution of multi-media training materials / web-based training content.
- Follows best practices in technical development to ensure a consistent development process.
- Follows best practices in project management to develop and track project schedules using a consistent project management methodology.
- Creates technical specifications for projects using approved templates and processes.
- Writes, executes and analyses usability studies and test plans related to course materials, E-learning strategies and learning management systems/client training portals.
- Designs and develops criterion-based training assessments.
- Assesses feedback from learners to evaluate and improve effectiveness of training.
- Responsible for management, coordination and troubleshooting of all aspects of client learning management systems/client training portals and training related websites, i.e., intranet, extranet, including communication with internal and external users
What you bring:
- Ability to design and deliver e-learning modules using a range of applications, Articulate Storyline being one of these
- Ability to utilise AI in the creation and design of digital learning to speed up and enhance delivery
- Experience designing, video editing and script writing digital learning solutions on a range of formats, e.g. Synthesia, Camtasia
- Work collaboratively to design creative, innovative and engaging learning resources
- Work collaboratively with your project leads and SMEs to ensure that learning solutions are innovative and meet the need
- Work with SMEs to develop the learning objectives and proposed content
- Liaise with internal e-learning specialists for best practice tips and approach
- Identify signatories and obtain sign off for modules
- Research the subject matter to become adequately informed of the topic
- Apply best practice learning design and multimedia principles to all resources
- Manage content delivery and timelines ensuring key milestones are hit
- Manage stakeholders and create strong positive relationships
- Financial services experience
As a well-rounded Learning Designer, candidates’ skills and experiences are likely to include:
- Extensive experience designing and script writing digital learning solutions
- Collaborating with content owners and SMEs
- A strong understanding of learning design principles
- Innovating and pushing creative boundaries
- Strong attention to detail
- Troubleshooting content issues and ensuring solutions are implemented

- Being up to date with current accessibility standards
