Position Summary / Career Interest:
Assesses and analyzes electronic medical record end-user learning needs; develops and maintains curriculum and tools to meet those needs. Implements a credentialed trainer program to ensure all classroom trainers have proper level of system knowledge and can deliver training content effectively. Configures electronic medical record training environment to ensure end-users can practice using the electronic medical record. Collaborates with analysts and to ensure latest system configuration information is incorporated in training material. Designs and executes ongoing training programs for new-hires and system changes/upgrades.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Oversees EMR application activities. Review content with upgrades or manages application activities around the EMR application training projects.
- Oversee the understanding and participation of all pertinent application roles, stakeholder roles and leadership roles and approval process.
- Oversee, evaluate and mentor team member competence/knowledge in the design and development of adult learning curriculum, specifically for the healthcare setting including EMR.
- Demonstrates overall competence/knowledge of the healthcare setting and electronic medical records (EMR), overall information technology systems and concepts, software and training methodologies and best practices, and types of application training. Conducts analysis of training validity, reliability and positive customer experience.
- Lead knowledge transfer in assigned area. Demonstrates leadership ability to apply knowledge to assigned tasks for team members.
- Oversee team members maintaining and applying knowledge in assigned support areas for on-call as well as at elbow.
- Leads and provides overview for other team members in planning, coordination and delivery of training methodologies for the HITS department and customers.
- Manages and evaluates that adequate implementation team, stakeholder involvement in the training process.
- Demonstrates leadership skills that ensure adequate and complete testing.
- Provides, develops and evaluates training plan, training schedules and resource requirements as well as post training lessons learned. Review and update approved training plan template to assure all necessary documentation is included in plan. Reviews and edit the test plan as necessary to obtain Management approval and sign off. Place document in designated project training file and/or SharePoint.
- Provides leadership and mentoring of training initiatives.
- Oversees the identification and securing of test scripts to help develop lesson plans during System, Integration and Regression testing.
- Certification or proficiency (with certification level score) in assigned EPIC application or demonstrated learning of other assigned application must be obtained within 6 months of employment or assignment, respectively. If certification or proficiency is not achieved within the guidelines of Epic’s number of attempts termination of employment will occur.
- Leads training expectation training of new hires. Leads the reviewing training material on a minimum quarterly basis to update content as needed. Develops, identify deficiencies and suggests training for new hires around training expectations and suggests training for new hires around training expectations.
- Oversees the reviewing that all are following established process to ensure all training is properly documented, logged, tracked, and managed.
- Responds to off duty call.
- Participates in 24/7 command center activities as assigned.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience- Associates Degree in Education Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Training, or related field
- High School Graduate
- 5 or more years training experience
Preferred Education and Experience- Bachelors Degree in Education Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Training, or related field
- 4 or more years to 6 years of healthcare experience
- 6 or more years of training experience
Required Licensure and Certification- Certification in one Epic application (date of hire) or instructional design (within 6 months of hire)
Preferred Licensure and Certification- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems - Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) National certification (i.e. HIMSS programs, etc.)
