Position:     Youth Traineeship
Department:    Cairns Corps, QLD Division
Classification:   National Training Wage
Status:   6-month Max Term

The role:

Trainee’s will complete a Certificate I in Work Skills and a First Aid Certificate whilst gaining experience in the community services and youth work sectors of The Salvation Army and other local agencies. Trainees will be provided with hands on experience at the Cairns Corps, and accredited training, through a traineeship and aligned with individual vocational goals.

What you will be doing whilst completing traineeship:

  • Achieve a Certificate I in Workplace Skills through external RTO – Major training
  • Achieve a first aid certificate
  • Complete inductions, online and in-person training
  • Language, numeracy, and literacy support
  • Support the Cairns Corps community services work
  • Will receive tailored support during and post traineeship to be job ready and identify future work opportunities

What you will bring:

  • Queensland resident
  • Aged 15 years or older
  • WWCC – QLD Blue Card (if over 18years)
  • Reference check and background checks are essential
  • Not currently enrolled in and/or have not previously completed a Skilling Queenslanders for Work Project
  • As per the requirements by Skilling Queenslanders for Worker, the trainees cannot have a Certificate III or higher in a relation field
