Arriva Rail London have an excellent new opportunity within our Operational Planning team! Reporting directly into the Head of Planning, we are looking for a Traincrew Diagramming Team Leader to join us. If you have a proven track record of leading and motivating teams, with strong Planning & Diagramming experience within the railway, and are looking for your next steps then this is the role for you!

Responsibilities:

  • The Traincrew Diagramming Team Leader will lead the Traincrew Diagramming team, enabling them to produce a high-quality planning product whilst maintaining effective workload to achieve required timescales.

  • You will act as the key diagramming contact, diving forward relationships with local driver union representatives fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Within this role you will also lead on the production of Long-Term Planning and Short-Term Planning train crew diagrams, ensuring that the most efficient and effective use of train crew is in place whilst ensuring that all optimal route knowledge is retained, maximising the benefits of the terms and conditions.

  • You will also work alongside other key stakeholders including the concession management team, ensuring that traincrew diagrams are robust and will deliver a train service in line with the Concession performance targets as well as the overarching business objectives.

  • The Traincrew Diagramming Team Leader will also have full ownership of the KPI reporting and benchmarking for the diagramming team, to measure the performance of train crew processes, implementing improvement actions if required.

  • You will utilise all of the tools available, with a focus on information technology to increase the productivity of the Traincrew Diagramming team, whilst establishing a culture of continuous improvement by leading your team to identify and implement improvements to the train planning processes and systems.

Qualifications:

  • This individual will need to have a proven track record of leading and managing teams, with previous experience of working towards KPIs and benchmarking to drive successful business outcomes.

  • The Traincrew Diagramming Leader will also need to have strong knowledge of diagramming rules and how to apply Traincrew Terms and Conditions within diagramming parameters and will ideally have an understanding of Arriva Rail London and Network Rail routes.

  • Excellent IT literacy is essential for this role, ideally with experience of introducing new technologies.

  • You will also need to have strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to build effective and influencing relationships.

  • You will also need to have the ability to develop and implement strategies to achieve business objectives with a continuous improvement attitude.
