Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Trade Director CarelonRx is responsible for building business relationships with sources for new limited distribution drugs, promoting additional services to pharmaceutical manufacturers and their representatives, and maintaining current awareness of new and emerging pharmaceuticals.

How you will make an impact:

  • Ensure team alignment for accounts with Trade representation and collaborate with the Senior leaderships for alignment with the Program Manager team.

  • Meet regularly with clients to listen to feedback, develop opportunities, and collaborate with other business lines to address inconsistencies in existing programs.

  • Manage objectives to ensure continuity and coordinate with the RFP & Contracting Governance Committee and Contracting Team for efficient contract execution.

  • Oversee fee-for-service (FFS) and contract opportunities, maintaining industry knowledge to stay competitive.

  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of programs and alignment with pharmaceutical opportunities.

  • Support the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, ensuring associates understand and meet all requirements.

  • Travels to customer sites or other offsite locations as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related area and a minimum of 3 years of sales and purchasing experience and a minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Specialty pharmacy or specialty home infusion trade background, including experience working for a specialty manufacturer or a group purchasing organization in a trade capacity, is highly preferred.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.

  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred. 

  • Proficient of Microsoft Office products Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word strongly preferred.
