Ledcor is seeking an experienced Traction Power Systems Project Manager to join our Infrastructure division, leading the delivery of specialized Light Rail Transit (LRT) systems on the Capital Line South Extension (CLSE) project. This role focuses on managing complex high-voltage electrical infrastructure including traction power substations (TPS), feeder and return circuits, and associated control and SCADA systems.
Whether your background is in electrical contracting, rail systems delivery, or large-scale power distribution projects, this is an exceptional opportunity to lead a critical component of a major public transit expansion that will power Edmonton’s growing LRT network.
If you’re passionate about delivering technically challenging infrastructure that keeps cities moving, come join our True Blue team today!
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the delivery of traction power construction from initiation through commissioning and energization, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives across all traction power workstreams
- Direct field and project teams, coordinating with specialized electrical subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant installation of traction power substations, feeder cables, and return circuits
- Oversee the design, installation, and integration of high-voltage systems including 25 kV switchgear, transformers, rectifiers, DC switchgear, protective relays, control panels, and SCADA interfaces for traction power distribution
- Manage all technical documentation processes including electrical submittals, RFIs, design clarifications, interface control documents, energization procedures, and testing protocols
- Lead the development and execution of Electrical Installation Work Packages (EIWPs) and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) plans for traction power systems, ensuring timely completion of energization milestones and compliance with electrical code requirements
- Coordinate procurement strategies for specialized traction power equipment including transformers, rectifiers, DC switchgear, protective relays, SCADA instrumentation, and control systems
- Lead quality assurance and commissioning activities, verifying that all traction power systems meet operational performance, electrical protection, and regulatory requirements prior to energization
