Job Summary:

The manager of total rewards manages all aspects of compensation for St. Elizabeth. Helps to ensure that St. Elizabeth’s total rewards programs remain fair, consistent, competitive, fiscally responsible, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, and support the organization’s mission, values, and strategic initiatives. Facilitates manager and associate understanding of benefits programs. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Job Description:

Compensation:

  • Utilize advanced compensation knowledge and analytical skills to update, maintain, and modernizes the compensation philosophy.
  • Oversee system wide annual and ad hoc compensation projects, communication efforts and documents processes.
  • Project manages system wide compensation projects and communications efforts for of the following highly visible annual projects
  • Acts in a leadership role by providing technical guidance on more complex compensation issues.

Leave and Wellness Job Duties:

  • Benchmark and identify trends and recommend changes to total rewards policies (PTO, bereavement, etc) all while ensuring compliance is maintained.
  • Create, update, maintain, and modernize all wellness platforms and programs.
  • Utilize knowledge and project management skills to plan, develop, manage and deliver corporate health, wellness and health incentive programs.
  • Streamlines and integrate wellness throughout the healthcare system.
  • Develop and implement systems for tracking; Health outcomes, Cost benefit, engagement and employer and employee satisfaction/participation satisfaction

Manages and coaches subordinates.

  • Develops, promotes and maintains professional relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Trains, develops and coaches, counsels, assigns duties and work schedules.
  • Evaluates job performance and reviews performance appraisal with personnel.
  • Initiates or recommends necessary counseling, disciplinary actions, termination and commendatory actions.
  • Prioritizes and delegates tasks and projects within the department. 

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related discipline

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of compensation, benefits and retirement administration and programs                   
  • Utilizes benchmarking and industry trends. Analyzes data and makes recommendations
  • Demonstrated knowledge in personnel management
  • Knowledge of Federal and state laws and regulations related to benefits and retirement plans
  • Good interpersonal skills and organizational abilities.
  • Expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Kind and Length of Experience: 

  • 5+ years progressive responsibility for a variety of compensation, benefits or retirement areas
  • At least 1 year of managerial experience
