The Senior Toolmaker leads CNC programming, machining, and process planning for new tooling projects. This role manages and supports multiple projects simultaneously, stepping in wherever technical or process expertise is needed to keep work on schedule and meeting quality standards.

Beyond daily machining responsibilities, the Senior Toolmaker partners closely with engineering, optimizes tooling and manufacturing processes, supports certification efforts, and drives continuous improvement. This position is a key problem-solver, ensuring momentum, precision, and execution across tooling projects.

What You Will Do 

• Lead process planning and maintain clear, effective manufacturing documentation.
• Manage and coordinate shop activities across multiple active projects.
• Drive design-for-manufacturability improvements to optimize cost, quality, and throughput.
• Program and operate CAM/CNC equipment to execute tooling builds.
• Own tooling quality, ensuring all deliverables meet customer specifications.
• Keep projects on schedule through proactive planning and issue resolution.
• Assemble, optimize, and support certification of tooling.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and performance.

What You Will Bring 

• Education: High school diploma required.  
• Experience: 4+ years working in a tool room fabricating and assembling complex molds, dies, and machine assemblies.
• CNC Machining and CAM Programming: Experience programming, operating, and troubleshooting CNC equipment.
• Project Management Skills: Experience planning work, tracking progress, and meeting delivery schedules.
• Process Planning and Documentation: Experience developing procedures and supporting design-for-manufacturability. Exposure to continuous improvement and lean initiatives a plus.
• Quality and Inspection Skills: Ability to ensure tooling meets customer and engineering requirements.

Compensation: The expected base pay range for this role is $40 - $45 an hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
