Major Duties:

  • As a Title 10 Faculty Member (Command Programs/Leadership), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
  • Designs and facilitates the Battalion and Brigade Pre Command/Command Sergeants Major Program, Battalion and Brigade Tactical Commander's Development Program, Battalion and Brigade Functional Commanders Development Program.
  • Devises and develops changes to instructional techniques and methodology to meet the learning needs of students. Identifies program successes and deficiencies and revises curriculum.
  • Provides interdisciplinary educational support to other faculty members and continually reviews developments in fields of education and training to determine implications for current and future instructional programs.
  • Defends recommendations to highest levels of the agency to support policy changes affecting Army command preparation issues.
  • Provides advice to students to ensure full understanding of field grade command issues and demonstrates ability to analyze situations and recognize impact of decisions on unit/organizational areas.
  • Designs, conducts, and coordinates research in command, strategic leader competencies, and leader development areas to keep abreast of current trends. Coordinates results with Army, Department of Defense (DOD), and other Federal agencies.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Master's Requirement: Applicants MUST possess a Master's (or higher) degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major study in education or a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your graduate transcripts with your application). -AND- Applicants MUST be a graduate of the Army War College or a sister service equivalent. (NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts with your application) .-AND- Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe experience commanding both at the Brigade and Battalion level and at least one year of specialized experience that involves assignment involving tactical level planning and execution at the U.S. Army Brigade, Division and/or Corps level. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Experience commanding/leading complex organizations Knowledge of US Army Doctrine Teaching small group facilitation Curriculum development or assessment methodologies NOTE: This position may be filled at one of the following academic ranks: Instructor Assistant Professor Associate Professor Professor *Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the selectee's education and experience.
