We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Electrical and Electronic Engineering student to join our Thunderbolt Customer Team at Intel Haifa. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge board design and hardware debug for Thunderbolt technology. The successful candidate will work directly with our hardware engineering team on PCB layout design, signal integrity analysis, and providing critical debug support for complex hardware issues in Thunderbolt systems.
The candidate must be a hardware-focused student who has completed at least 2 years of Electrical and Electronic Engineering studies, demonstrating a strong foundational understanding of high-speed digital design, PCB layout principles, and systematic hardware debugging methodologies. This position provides exposure to industry-leading Thunderbolt technology and hands-on experience with advanced debug techniques and tools.
1. Academic Standing: Currently enrolled in Electrical and Electronic Engineering program, having completed at least 2 years of study with strong academic performance in hardware-related coursework.
2. Hardware Foundation: Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design, semiconductor devices, and electronic system fundamentals gained through coursework and laboratory experience.
3. PCB Design Knowledge: Exposure to high-speed PCB design principles through academic projects or internships.
4. Knowledge of multi-layer board design, component placement, and routing concepts - Advantage High-Speed Digital Design: Strong grasp of signal integrity fundamentals including transmission lines, impedance control, crosstalk, and EMI/EMC considerations. Knowledge of differential signaling and high-speed digital protocols.
5. Debug and Troubleshooting Skills: Strong analytical mindset with systematic approach to hardware debugging. Experience with root cause analysis, failure mode identification, and methodical problem-solving techniques from laboratory coursework.
