The Role

  • As a Technical Program Manager in AI Studio/Gemini API, you will apply program management methodologies to multiple initiatives, balancing progress and risk to deliver sustainable change to meet objectives. You will work with product managers, engineers, and pairs to define project scope, goals, timelines, and resource requirements. You will play a central role in launching key features to the general public.

Key responsibilities: (maximum of 10, minimum of 5)

  • Work with the Zurich and US engineering team on all required elements of end-to-end project planning and delivery, using your knowledge of project methodologies including tools and techniques such as stand ups, retrospectives, agile boards, project plans etc
  • Integrate with the rest of the AIS/Gemini API team (150+ people) to ensure coverage across the team (mix of projects and launch support)
  • Effectively translate technical information to non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment
  • Track progress, maintain up to date information and relevant technical documentation, anticipate and propose solutions to issues and risks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, making sound decisions that balance feasibility and project timelines.
  • Critically evaluate technical proposals, understanding the trade-offs between different approaches, and weigh in on the viability of solutions
  • Iterate with the rest of the TPM group on process and drive the improvement of some of them
  • Drive some model and features launches improve the process based on what you learn driving the process
  • Demonstrate a curious mindset and a commitment to learning and understanding your team’s technical field, and your broader understanding of AGI, in order to inform how you enable people, teams and optimise research

  • Knowledge and expertise in project/program management with the skill to navigate through ambiguity and adjust and adapt plans and strategies as project conditions change.
  • Possess a strong technical understanding (Developer ecosystem, API, SDK).
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, taking ownership and driving projects independently.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to develop meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and leverage these to influence action and outcomes, ensuring alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders.

 

In addition, the following would be an advantage: (require maximum of 5 and minimum of 3 items)

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles.
  • Product Management experience (direct or partnering closely).
