Third Party Management Advisor
Position Overview
The Third-Party Management Advisor is responsible for performing activities related to governance, vendor & risk management, portfolio and relationship management processes. A key function of this position is to perform supplier governance, manage supplier issues, drive supplier performance, and minimize risk within our supplier contracts. The role manages projects of varying scope, including multi-year service engagements, and is accountable for implementing GPTPMS best practices to achieve business objectives and mitigate supplier risk across Cigna’s supplier ecosystem.
This role will require interaction with senior leadership to build portfolio and vendor management strategies that align with Cigna's strategic initiatives, projects, and programs. Additionally, this role will support TPM and Sourcing colleagues in supplier issue resolution, performance management, negotiations, RFP and proposal analysis etc. A working understanding of legal contracts as well as deep analytical skills and financial acumen is desired.
Responsibilities
Vendor Management
Accountable for providing strategic direction and overall governance associated with assigned supplier relationships including but not limited to;
Track and monitor aggregate supplier performance against measures and guidelines and report on said performance in a monthly, quarterly, or annual manner.
Drive governance and issue resolution for all areas of the assigned portfolio
Identify and action opportunities to improve the supplier governance approach and procurement process which could have significant financial impact on the organization
Perform recurring Enterprise Business Review sessions with business/matrix partners and suppliers on a quarterly or semi-annual basis to provide strategic guidance to suppliers
Responsible for supplier governance activities
Perform supplier governance tasks within the TPM tool for assigned Suppliers including supplier profiling, research, spend reviews, and other tasks as assigned
Perform vendor-facing assessments including SLA reviews, business continuity plan reviews, contact updates, insurance certificate reviews, and other assessments as needed
Manage and analyze supplier scorecards and surveys, ensuring proper measurement of supplier performance and sentiment within the Enterprise
Portfolio Management
Accountable for cultivating and developing strong relationships with business customers to understand their portfolio of business and drive supplier focused solutions to their ever-changing requirements including but not limited to;
Navigate highly complex supplier landscape which includes ever-changing strategies and priorities
Facilitate top to top discussions with senior leaders from Cigna and suppliers
Bring strategic thinking and thought leadership to overall Business Requirements, Enterprise Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Change Orders, Statements of Work
Collaborate with sourcing teams and other TPMs and business requesters to assist in supplier performance management and negotiations as needed.
Perform reporting and analysis on spend and supplier portfolios as needed
Perform analysis on expiring contracts, renewals, and other contract pipeline data as needed to support the business areas and strategic sourcing
Execute terminations and non-renewals of supplier agreements as needed, ensuring appropriate steps are taking to offboard the supplier’s services
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Minimum of 11 –13 years’ experience in third party management, global procurement or operations and management experience strongly preferred
Experience developing and maintaining relationships with Senior and/or Executive levels both internal and external to achieve desired outcomes through contracted engagements.
Experience drafting, revising and reviewing contracts, Service Level Agreements, Master Service Agreements and Statements of Work
Demonstrated negotiation and third-party management skills with proven success; able to negotiate directly with internal and external partners preferred
Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills among various levels of leadership
Ability to excel and prioritize workload in an environment of high ambiguity and quick pace
Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with strong emphasis on Excel
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field strongly preferred
Desired Experience
Experience in the health-related fields such as health services, health insurance, pharmacy benefits management, and related fields
Experience with HIPAA, Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), and other related US Healthcare concepts
Exposure to Third Party Management systems such as Process Unity, Ariba or similar Procurement systems, and Icertis or similar Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems
Experience working with a matrix organization and other internal partners to execute on goals
Experience in a broad range of indirect procurement categories such as health & wellness, business process outsourcing, technology, corporate services, and others
Location & Hours of Work
Full-time position, working 45 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate
Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India in a hybrid working model (3 days WFO and 2 days WAH)
