Job Summary

The Therapeutic Area Analytics & Insights Manager - Foundational Products is a strategic advisor to key stakeholders and an integral contributor to Genentech’s Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) planning efforts. This individual supports the delivery of actionable insights and strategic recommendations to inform timely and critical business decisions across therapeutic areas, ecosystems, and/or business domains. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, conducting targeted analyses to uncover tailored insights, and synthesizing findings into strategic options aligned with organizational goals. Work will guide decisions that affect in-line, pipeline, and/or business development assets. As an Individual Contributor, this individual is responsible for providing strategic recommendations with significant guidance / supervision, leveraging their capabilities. The Manager works flexibly within a matrix structure, sensing business priorities and reprioritizing work to meet organizational objectives responsible for delivering high-impact, data-driven insights that address key business challenges and support Genentech’s strategic objectives. The Manager plays a key role in integrating analytical products into workflows and enhancing organizational efficiency through best practices and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Manager in this role will lead analytics/insights across one or more products for Genentech’s Foundational Products squad including patient strategy work with line of sight to future Genentech portfolio

● Collaborate with stakeholders to deeply understand business needs, key questions, and priorities, and ensure alignment with project objectives and analytic lead direction

● Perform custom analyses by applying appropriate analytic techniques to address business challenges.

● Take an enterprise mindset, linking individual responsibilities with broader organization; focus on outcomes that provide most business and patient value.

● Contribute to continuous organizational improvement by sharing best practices, identifying opportunities for automation, and enhancing the efficiency and impact of analytic workflows.

● Play an active role in the adoption of analytical products by staying up to date on the product roadmap, participating in training, user testing (as needed), and providing constructive feedback to ensure products are integrated into workflows. Embed and integrate products into workflows and foster Data, Analytics, and AI's product-first culture.

● Effectively interact with and collaborate with offshore teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and maintain high-quality deliverables.

● Actively contribute to the community of practice by sharing knowledge, participating in discussions, and supporting peers to enhance collective expertise and drive continuous improvement.

● Balances individual, stakeholder, and department priorities to manage and shape own workload

● Build proficiency in tailoring communication to specific audiences, communicating and influencing stakeholders to secure buy-in

● Demonstrates the ability to independently handle project tasks, and proactively seeks managerial guidance as needed. Proactively identifies risks and seeks manager input to drive positive project outcomes.

● Quickly adapt to evolving priorities by working flexibly within capabilities or expertise areas to address business needs and deliver impactful insights and analytics:

  • Market Research: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem to assess and improve the patient experience.

  • Data Analytics: Analyze secondary and structured datasets to surface actionable insights that benefit customers and patients.

  • Digital Measurement: Design and conduct digital analytics and performance measurement to generate insights that inform strategy.

● Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech Activities.

Who You Are

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience

● 3-5 years of relevant work experience (or equivalent with advanced education)

● Bachelor's Degree.

● Growth Mindset.

● Experience synthesizing concise summaries focused on the key insights that inform business decisions.

● Comfortable dealing with uncertainty in a highly-matrixed organization.

● Strong results orientation and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

● Persuasive written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience

● Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Computer or Physical Sciences or related field.

● Proficiency in understanding market landscape and surfacing insights across multiple primary data sources.

Demonstrated experience in the following domains:

○ Data Analytics

● Experience working with analytical tools is required (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Excel).

● Working knowledge of secondary data sources including syndicated sales, promotional and marketing data, longitudinal patient level data; experience with payer data is preferred.

● Experience with statistical modeling, analysis, and presentation of results to a non-technical audience.

○ Digital Measurement

■ Able to design and conduct digital analytics / measurements.

● Proficient with data analytics tools (Excel, Python, SQL, etc.)

● Proven track record of time-management, project management, and teamwork.

● Building proficiency in exploring large amounts of data, identifying important insights and building compelling narratives.

○ Direct-To-Patient marketing analytics

● Experience with secondary & primary insights/analytics on direct-to-patient marketing; familiarity with concepts such as media measurement, leading & lagging indicators, ROI, channel optimization, etc

Location

●This position is based in South San Francisco, CA and relocation benefits are not available.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $131,300.00 - $243,900.00 USD Annual.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
