About the location:

Located on the southeastern coast of the pristine island of Lāna’i, lies the secluded retreat of Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i, an oceanfront destination offering travelers a curated, personalized island escape. The five-star, five-diamond Resort offers outdoor restaurants, including Nobu Lāna’i, a kid’s club, Tennis Garden, cultural programming, beach and pool with spacious seating areas nestled among tropical gardens, Hawanawana spa and luxury retail boutiques. Built on lava outcroppings, the award-winning Jack Nicklaus-signature golf course features ocean views on every hole. Island activities, many managed by Four Seasons include sunset sails and whale watch tours, horseback riding, sporting clays and archery, biking, hiking, and aerial adventures at Lanai Adventure Park or learn about Hawaiian wayfinding at the on-site observatory.

THE BREAK FOOD RUNNER 

The Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i is looking for a Food Runner who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required. 

 

The Break 

The Break welcomes visitors into a comfortable place to relax, get work done or enjoy a game, all overlooking Hulopo'e Bay. Open early for coffee and light breakfast items such as pastries, acai bowls, fresh juices and more. Later enjoy sandwiches and salads to eat in or to go, housemade gelato and tapas-style small plates to share in the evening, complemented by a tempting drinks menu with local beer, boutique wine and craft cocktails. Finish off with coffee cocktails and nightcaps paired with desserts and our signature lilikoi cheesecake. 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

The Food Runner plays a vital role in delivering an excellent dining experience by transporting food from the kitchen to guests efficiently and accurately. This position serves as a crucial connection between the back-of-house and front-of-house teams, ensuring all dishes are presented properly, special requests are followed, and service flows smoothly. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:     

  • Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct tables and seats promptly, maintaining proper presentation and temperature 

  • Verify order accuracy, completeness, modifications, and allergen requests; ensure clean plating and proper garnish 

  • Coordinate dishes and table numbers to support smooth service flow and quality control 

  • Demonstrate food and beverage knowledge when presenting items, placing dishes correctly according to order sequence 

  • Provide warm, polite, and professional guest interactions to ensure satisfaction during food delivery 

  • Assist with table maintenance, including clearing plates, resetting tables, and supporting team members during peak periods 

  • Support dining room setup prior to service to optimize guest flow, including moving chairs and tables 

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of side stations and service areas before and after service 

  • Execute beverage and service setups, including coffee, tea, specialty afterdinner drinks, and correct glassware use. Restock and maintain par levels of water, juices, sodas, and nonalcoholic beverages 

  • Polish silverware and glassware; set up ice buckets, water stations, and service displays 

  • Transition display cases throughout the day and complete endofnight breakdown with accurate inventory counts 

  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests

WHAT TO BRING 

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States 

  • The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required. 

  • Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card   

  • Hawaii Food Handler’s Card is required for this role 

  • Maui Liquor Card is preferred but not required  

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts  

  • Maintains a guest-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment.
