Test Lead

What does a successful Test Lead do at Fiserv?

You will play a key role in the software delivery process for our team, delivering Digital and Mobile Banking solutions to our clients in International Markets.

This a hands-on role where you will work with the rest of the development team and take ownership of the test deliverables for your respective scrum teams to ensure only the highest quality products make it out the door.

We are interested in someone with a strong testing background and mindset, developed through years of testing experience and continuous education in the testing field. Through Context Driven Testing, and applying Critical Thinking skills, you will help identify problems that could risk the value of the products and projects that we deliver.

You know where automation fits into the overall quality strategy and have the experience to understand how to apply it appropriately to compliment the functional test approach.

You will help ensure meeting definition of Done and user story Acceptance criteria, Weekly Merge Testing, ad-hoc code drops and patches, Regression and Backwards Compatibility Testing, etc

The role includes defect validation, triage and analysis into Root Causes to identify trends that helps to help drive Process Improvements across our development and testing practices.

What you'll do:

• Understand, communicate and execute on the scope of testing required to meet the needs of the project or desired business capabilities
• Work closely with Development Technical Leads to understand the technical design of features and enhancements to set the test approach and high-level test plan for scrum team testers to execute against
• Review test plans, assist with managing post-design scope changes and resolving issues throughout the SDLC
• Plan and execute Integration Testing with 3rd party systems
• Develop and maintain appropriate and relevant Testing Artefacts to form an integral part of the delivery methodology.
• Understand the system architecture, release and environment management, and contribute towards Quality Initiatives and overall Process Improvements
• Work closely with your team, as well as with the client in terms of defect validation, triage and overall defect management.
• Build a Strong Relationship with the development tech leads and QA teams across the entire project team.
• Work in an expert/advisor capacity to all members of the QA practice, supporting and Coaching QA team members with test execution
• Provide technical support, guidance and leadership to the QA team focused around testing activities and challenges across the various stages of the SDLC.
• Keep up to date with latest iOS and Android market trends as well as latest OS/Hardware & technological changes in the mobile space

What you'll need to have:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in software testing with proven experience in test planning, execution and reporting.
• 5+ years’ experience in Mobile Banking or equivalent industry experience
• Capable technical tester proficient in API Testing and the use of tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Fiddler, Charles or similar
• Well versed in testing Native Mobile Applications with solid understanding of mobile testing techniques, challenges and market insights
• Advanced understanding of various testing techniques and how to apply these given the context of the project or environment that you are testing in
• Demonstrate your ability to plan and execute Integration Testing with 3rd party systems
• Solid defect tracking and management experience with ability to implement and run Programme level Defect Triage between a client and multiple project/scrum teams
• Ability to take the lead on a Programme or multi project/scrum team level, creating and implementing testing strategies and approaches.
• Able to plan QA activities over multiple release cycles
• Ability to provide feedback based on previous experience into the continuous improvement of the testing process .Understand, communicate, and execute the scope of testing required to support project objectives and business capabilities
