Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Principal/Engineer Test at its Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for a role with our Manufacturing Engineering Team. In this role you will be supporting radar development and sustainment programs. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.

Responsibilities:

Recognize areas for improvement, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing, evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

  • Supports the APN241 program at NGC site and customer location as an individual contributor and in a team environment.

  • Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including systems, manufacturing, test and equipment engineering, material management, and process reengineering.

  • Radio frequency (RF) troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for radar systems, to include Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), Line Replaceable Modules (LRMs), and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).

  • Perform Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) Resolution and Design Try-Outs (DTOs) for legacy radar systems.

  • Provide laboratory support for hardware upgrades, sustainment, and testing. Maintain and upgrade legacy test stations. Assist with the development of test requirements and improved testing capabilities.

  • Investigate findings for process improvements and make recommendations.

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Materials Purchasing, Program Management and other functional areas.

  • Experience in MES, SAP, Gold, Teamcenter, and browser-based applications.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Create and/or modify site documentation, technical drawings, and customer deliverables.

  • Evaluate customer warranty assets and determine the root cause of failures.

  • Provide MRB support, testing and troubleshooting, and determining product disposition.

  • Familiarity with industry standards, such as IPC/J-STD or AS9100/ISO9001.

  • Must have the ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, Engineering, and Production.

  • Ability to travel at least 10%

**This position may be filled at either Engineer Test or Principal Engineer Test level.

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Test:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years (or master’s degree plus 0 years) of relevant experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, MRP, Production Control, Supply Chain or similar

  • 6 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • Understanding of RF theories and principles

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with SAP/ERP or other related system

  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer Test:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years (or master’s degree plus 3 years) of relevant experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, MRP, Production Control, Supply Chain or similar

  • 9 years of experience considered in lieu of degree

  • Greater understanding of RF theories and principles

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with SAP/ERP or other related system

  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:             

  • Previous leadership experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with Antenna range testing.

  • Hands-on experience with the APN-241 system and its components.

  • Proven experience with RF testing and troubleshooting.

  • Experience in an engineering environment.

  • SAP knowledge or experience.

  • iMRO/PEO knowledge or experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
