Job Description Summary
Responsible pilot material production, Small Volume Manufacturing (SVM) and High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) at company labs and toller sites. Must have strong commands of statistical analysis expertise, quality assurance and problem-solving capability. Responsible for product technical transfer from R&D to manufacturing, with emphasis on quality controls on trace metal and particle control through SPC trend chart analysis. Solid training and experience in analytical and organic chemistry/engineering is preferred.

R&D Commercialization Engineer/Manager
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The R&D Commercialization Engineer/Manager develops experimental Electronic Material products into Commercial products with Technology and Manufacturing Focus
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Starting with experimental chemical cleaners or etchants, scale up from beakers through pilot production (100- 400 Liters) to Small/High Volume Manufacturing (greater than 1 ton). Special focuses on controls of trace metal and particles through Statistical Analysis and SPC trend charts. Plans, coordinates, and conducts a variety of technical projects to develop commercially viable processes, including analytical methods, DOE (Design of Experiments), quality assurance and problem solving. Aligns and works closely with R&D, Application Engineers and Project Management Team on key requirements, including EHS, Quality, Documentation, Analytical and Manufacturing. Adheres to all safety rules. Performs other duties as assigned by EM R&D Global Management with business alignments.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Develops required engineer processes for pilot production and small/high volume manufacturing. Study compatibility of Material of Construction and Packaging with wet cleaners and etchants. Collaborates with R&D, Procurement, Applications Engineers, Analytical, EHS, Marketing and Sales to support experimental products evaluations at customer sites. Manages Internal Production and Toll Manufacturing. Manufacturing processes include product blending, filtration, packaging, waste management and solvent reclaims. Closely works with Corporate Project Development and Management Champion and Team members through team meeting and regular updates on Project Development Systems on computer. Participates in technical and business strategy development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Master (5+ years) or Ph.D. (0-2+ years) experience is required
Experience:
Semiconductor, Chemical or related Process Development and Production is preferred.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Chemical Engineer/Chemist. With skills in Statistical Analysis, Analytical and Organic chemistry.
Skills/Competencies:
Must have proficiency in Statistical Analysis.
Proficient in chemical engineering including unit operation electrochemical, physical property measurements, skilled in filtration, contamination, trace metal and particle control a plus.
Sound knowledge of organic, inorganic, and analytical chemistry.
Knowledge and experiences in equipment, facility, and manufacturing process, project management.
Knowledge of semiconductor or memory device fabrication processes will be a plus.
Familiar with regulatory, EHS, quality systems and chemical literature.
The ability to analyze and solve complex problems, independently design, conduct experiments and analyze the results of experiments.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
The R&D Commercialization Engineer/Manager aligns, supports, and collaborates with cross functional team members from R&D, Application Engineer, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Toll Manufacturing, QA, QC and customers. Responsible for or facilitates the production of new products and technology from early R&D development, through scale-up pilot production to high volume manufacturing
