The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Lingo Division. Working on Lingo, you will help build a next-generation technology that enables individuals to make decisions about how to improve energy, lose weight or enhance athletic performance.

What You’ll Work On 

  • Understand product requirements and use cases and their relationship with but not limited to - technical requirements development, test strategy, test planning, development of test design, test cases, and test execution.
  • Lead and execute end-to-end software verification for cloud technologies, mobile applications, and Bluetooth products within a regulated medical device environment, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously refine verification plans, protocols, and reports in alignment with FDA 21CFR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and other applicable standards to support regulatory audits and submissions.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams, promoting a collaborative environment that drives project success and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Partner closely with product owners, architects, and developers to ensure requirements are fully testable, traceable, and aligned with verification strategies.
  • Support and contribute to risk management activities, including risk analysis, defect triage, impact assessment, and root cause investigations.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide verification of design input, ensuring design artifacts meet regulatory and quality expectations.
  • Champion continuous improvement by optimizing verification of workflows, automation coverage, tooling, and metrics to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Design and implement robust automated and manual test strategies across functional, integration, system, and regression testing, emphasizing scalability and maintainability.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and pipelines, integrating automated tests into CI/CD ecosystems to enable rapid, consistent, and reliable software delivery.
  • Mentor and guide junior test engineers, fostering technical growth, best practices in automation, regulatory, and strong engineering discipline across the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software verification and quality engineering.
  • 3+ years of Medical Device experience, working under FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 62304 regulations.
  • Highly skilled in the preparation and execution of medical device V&V (validation and verification) testing and surrounding processes (defect management, traceability, etc.)
  • Experienced in analyzing test automation opportunities and developing solutions across mobile, web, API, or other technologies.
  • Exposure to modern CI/CD ecosystems (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, Harness) enabling fully automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in healthcare or other regulated industries is a major plus.
  • Strong emphasis on automation-first testing strategies.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing scalable automation frameworks (PyTest, Jest, Playwright, REST Assured) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript) with the ability to build reusable automation utilities and tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, quality assurance, and data compliance standards such as HIPAA and GDPR. 
  • Experience with system integration and end-to-end testing in complex environments which support both software and hardware components.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures and microservices testing.

The base pay for this position is

$100,000.00 – $200,000.00
