What’s the role

Shell Canada is seeking a Territory Manager (TM)—one of the most exciting and fulfilling roles within Shell Mobility. This frontline role places you at the center of the business, where your decisions and actions have a direct impact on performance and results. As a Territory Manager, you will be accountable for delivering sales, profitability, and operational targets across a large geographic territory, managing 30–40 dealer accounts throughout British Columbia. Success in this role is achieved through strong, hands‑on engagement with dealers and partners, combined with effective collaboration across cross‑functional teams including Operations, Marketing, Network, Road Transport, Trading, and Supply.

We are looking for strong performers who are motivated to outpace the competition. Our team delivers fuel sales and profitability that directly support Mobility and Downstream in achieving best‑in‑class performance. You will join the Mobility’s Indirect team, a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented, and customer‑focused group recognized for strong results, accountability, and collaboration.

We are committed to creating value for both the enterprise and our business partners, and we take pride in supporting one another to deliver results. This is a dynamic and highly competitive business environment, where you will work with a diverse dealer network representing a wide range of backgrounds, experience levels, and business models. The role offers excellent opportunities to further develop commercial judgment, adaptability, and relationship‑building skills, supported by a strong and collaborative team that will help you succeed in every step of the way. This is a field‑based role, and the successful candidate must be based in British Columbia. Regular travel within the territory is required to conduct site visits, dealer engagements, and performance reviews.

Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for overall P&L performance of the assigned territory, delivering results in line with the approved business plan

  • Achieve performance targets, including volume growth, profitability, and effective delivery of the dealer value proposition in the territory.

  • Proactively identify and pursue new profitable business opportunities, driving incremental volume and margin growth across the territory

  • Manage dealer performance through regular site visits, performance reviews, and targeted coaching to address underperformance and drive continuous improvement

  • Ensure consistent execution of the Retail Customer Value Proposition, while maintaining compliance with operational, HSSE, and brand standards

  • Develop and maintain strong, effective relationships with dealers, providing guidance on commercial and operational best practices to support long‑term business success

What you bring

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Territory Manager, field sales, account management, or commercial role

  • Valid, non-restricted Class 5 driver’s license required, with willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (company vehicle provided)

  • Proven track record of delivering sales volume, margin, and commercial targets through effective territory and account management

  • Strong capability in sales execution, negotiations, influencing independent business owners, and long‑term relationship management

  • Demonstrated ability to execute standard operating processes, ensure compliance with retail/brand standards, and consistently deliver the retail customer commitment.

  • Experienced in coaching, developing, and influencing dealer or partner performance, including identifying capability gaps and providing structured guidance, feedback, and support

  • Ability to manage a large geographic territory and respond quickly to shifting priorities while operating effectively in fast‑paced and evolving business environment
