The Role
As a Teradata Database Administrator at Kyndryl, you will be responsible for the administration, operation, and optimization of enterprise-scale relational and non-relational database environments. In this role, you will support business-critical data platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational stability across production environments.
You will act as a technical expert, working closely with cross-functional and global teams to support applications, resolve incidents, and continuously improve database services. Your expertise will directly contribute to service quality, risk mitigation, and the reliability of customer data platforms under strict service level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
Administer and operate relational and non-relational database environments, with a strong focus on Teradata Administration, ensuring availability and operational stability.
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database engines, including patching, hardening, and lifecycle management activities.
Monitor database performance and capacity, performing proactive tuning, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
Provide operational support for business-critical production environments under defined SLAs, including incident investigation and resolution.
Manage database security, backups, recovery, high availability solutions, and maintain accurate technical documentation and operational standards.

Required Technical and Professional Experience
4+ years of experience in database administration and operations within enterprise or business-critical environments.
Proven experience in Teradata Administration, including relational and non-relational database platforms.
Strong background in database installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and operational support.
Hands-on experience with performance management, capacity planning, monitoring, alert analysis, and troubleshooting.
Experience supporting production environments under SLAs, including incident management and problem resolution.
Solid knowledge of backup, recovery, high availability, security management (users, roles, permissions), and query optimization.
Experience producing technical documentation and contributing to operational standardization.
Intermediate English proficiency, required to collaborate with global teams and produce technical documentation.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Vantage Administration certification or formal training in Teradata Vantage platforms.
Experience working in large-scale, enterprise, or regulated environments supporting business-critical data platforms.
Familiarity with IT service management practices (e.g., ITIL-based operations) and working under structured operational frameworks.
Experience collaborating with global, cross-functional teams and customers in complex operational environments.
