Job Description Summary:

Fenwick is seeking a Temporary (estimated 6 months) Social Impact, Pro Bono, & Inclusion and Engagement Assistant to provide day-to-day administrative and project support to the Chief Pro Bono and Social Impact Officer, Director of Inclusion & Engagement and Social Impact Manager. This role is well-suited for a candidate with prior administrative or coordination experience who is comfortable handling a range of responsibilities and contributing to a fast-paced professional services environment.

The Assistant will support the implementation and ongoing management of the firm’s Social Impact (SI), Pro Bono, and Inclusion and Engagement initiatives, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure projects, communications, and processes are executed accurately and on time.

This position can be based in our Silicon Valley or San Francisco, CA, office location and offers a hybrid schedule, requiring 3 days onsite per week at your designated office with the possibility of additional required in-office days depending on business needs. During the training period, in-office days will be 4 days per week. If based in San Francisco, travel to the Silicon Valley office will be required a few times per month. The work schedule for this position (non‑exempt) will be 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with flexibility and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Job Description:

  • Use AI tools to streamline administrative and project-related tasks and support evolving ways of working. 
  • Draft and support internal and external communications (newsletters, announcements, invitations, flyers, etc.) related to Social Impact, Pro Bono, and Inclusion and Engagement events. 
  • Track, compile, and report metrics for pro bono clinics and internal requests for data. 
  • Maintain pro bono resource databases, including uploading documents and ensuring information remains accurate and current. 
  • Coordinate sponsorship requests, including payment processing, drafting emails, and managing logos and seating arrangements. 
  • Maintain departmental files and records, such as meeting minutes, attendance sheets, media release forms, and spreadsheets. 
  • Attend volunteer committee meetings and take meeting minutes. 
  • Assist with the New Business Intake System and prepare engagement letters for new pro bono matters. 
  • Work closely with the I&E team on inclusion projects, as needed. 
  • Provide administrative and project support to the departments and assist with additional projects as required. 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience providing administrative or coordination support in a professional services or similar environment. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and details with minimal supervision. 
  • Strong organizational skills and consistent attention to detail. 
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the firm and with external partners. 
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities. 
  • Motivated, reliable, and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and responsibility for assigned work. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
  • Experience using AI technology.  

Reporting to the Social Impact Manager, the ideal candidate will have 2+ years of relevant administrative or project support experience in a professional services environment. Prior law firm experience is a plus. A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

The anticipated range for this position is:

$57,000 - $77,250

Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance.  Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
