About the Position
As a Temporary Mail Clerk, you would assist in facilitating the election process by using the mail-opening machinery to ensure all mail is opened, moved, and processed.

We Require
This position requires a high school diploma or GED.
Other Requirements
- Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
- Must pass an applicable background screening
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary

Job Contributions
- Requires long periods of standing while utilizing electronic mail opening machinery to open ballots in bulk prior to pre-tabulation ballot processing
- Pushes and pulls baker racks that weigh up to 150 pounds and postal cages weighing up to 250 pounds around the mail room, pre-tabulation processing staging area, or secured ballot vault
- Assists with end-of-day clean-up and mail room organization
- Assists other divisions of Elections with their daily functions and activities
Working Conditions
- Full-time/Temporary/Overtime/Holiday hours are mandatory during the election cycle
- Requires the ability to review small fonts on hard copy, to stand for extended periods, and to walk on an inclined surface
- Upper extremity repetitive motion and the ability to pivot a minimum of up to 20 pounds are required
- Requires the ability to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist a minimum of up to 20 pounds and carry up to 450 feet, to reach overhead and lift a minimum of up to 20 pounds, and to push/pull a minimum of up to 250 pounds for up to 450 feet
- Requires the ability to work in close proximity to others
- Duties may be performed indoors or outdoors, including in high temperatures, and exposure to dust particles and loud noise may occur
- All operations will be conducted under livestream cameras and in the presence of political observers
- Must not engage in any political discussion during the election
