We are seeking a Temporary Buyer, and you will play a critical role in our financial operations.
Core responsibilities include:
Procurement Operations: Purchase products for resale or departmental use while ensuring all transactions remain in strict alignment with university policies.
Vendor Management: Discuss effectively with vendors to secure the most favorable pricing, contract terms, and delivery schedules.
Lifecycle Management: Coordinate the full purchasing lifecycle, spanning from the initial creation of purchase orders to final invoice processing.
Inventory & Demand Analysis: Resolve specific product needs and optimal order quantities by analyzing sales history and current usage trends.
Consultative Support: Exercise independent judgment to select vendors and advise various departments on available sourcing options and policy procedures.
Financial Coordination: Partner closely with the Accounts Payable team to resolve invoice discrepancies and monitor orders to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment.
What You Bring to the Team
We are looking for professionals who demonstrate a high level of integrity and strong interpersonal skills. To be successful in this role, you should possess:
Excellent organizational abilities and a proactive approach to time management.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial documentation.
The ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Professional discretion and sound judgment when handling pricing information.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business or finance is preferred.
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
One or more years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or related financial roles.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and familiarity with the financial system, Oracle Financials, is required.
Successful completion of a background check.
