Temporary Employee - Non-ExemptJob Description Summary
This is a position for a temporary position, will work with an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the School of Medicine and an Associate Director of Translational Medicine. The laboratory studies the immune system, emerging infectious diseases, and rare rheumatic diseases. A major focus of the laboratory is understanding how proteins called interferons regulate immune responses. Many of the experiments performed in the laboratory involve animal models of human disease, including studies of viruses and animals that have mutations in genes that encode viral nucleic acid sensors. This role will focus on the screening inhibitors and degraders as well as mouse work. The ideal candidate for this job will have prior laboratory experience, especially with laboratory research animals.Job Description
Screening inhibitors and degraders.
Isolation of infected tissues from mice, genotyping of mice, and performing mutagenesis, quantitative PCR and transient transfection assays.
Cloning and molecular biology techniques.
Isolation and culture of primary cells, preparation of virus stocks, virus infections of primary cells and mice.
Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
Preparing reagents, maintaining records, and general lab duties.
Perform additional duties as assigned
