Our Office of Child Welfare is seeking to fill a LIMITED DURATION ending June 30, 2026 / Temp Lodging (Social Services Assistant) position in Corvallis!

Summary of Duties

As a Temp Lodging SSA (Social Services Assistant) you will:

Temp Lodging Supervision

Provide 24/7 supervision of the children/youth.

           

Transportation Support Services

Transport children as needed for appointments, school, or any other needs as directed by caseworker, supervisor. Transportation may include inter- or intrastate as well as medical/dental appointments.

Placement Support Services

In line with the Vision of Transformation, this position will provide support to stabilize placements in either in-home or out of home placements.

Minimum Qualifications

A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting; OR

An associate degree in any field; OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Attributes

We are looking for candidates with:

1 Have experience listening and accurately document in writing, conversations between clients and children including children possibly disclosing confidential information.

2 Have experience with duties related to both prevention of Temporary Lodging as well as supervision

3 Have experience reviewing and implementing supervision plan provided by caseworker

4  Have experience meeting with clients, family members and care givers to review family time agreements and guidelines

Working Conditions

The duties in this position include working with challenging and sometimes hostile youth/children. Work is done in hotels, hospitals, homes, the office and field. This work requires a valid Driver’s license and the ability to drive during your scheduled work hours. This position requires working a flexible schedule as a condition of employment. There is no typical normal workday of 8 hours, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Working hours are often adjusted within a given week. Compensated overtime during evening and weekend work may be required. Requires ability to use computer technology, including a working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft WORD and Or-Kids
