Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a Telecommunications Manager in the Space Department (SPACE), Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Operations Division, Naval Network Warfare Command (NAVNETWARCOM).
  • You will serve as the primary advisor to the Space Department Head in all facets of Navy and Joint Satellite Communications (SATCOM) with an emphasis on Fleet employment and utilization.
  • You will conduct an annual review of SATCOM related Global Communications Information Bulletins (G-CIBS) and update as required ensuring they reflect current Fleet policies and procedures.
  • You will provide the Fleet with Extremely High Frequency SATCOM resource monitoring.
  • You will manage the NETWARCOM Satellite Communications SIPERNET web page providing Military Super High Frequency, Commercial, Global Broadcast System, and Extremely High Frequency SATCOM assignments for fleet units.
  • You will perform a full range of supervisory responsibilities for a subordinate staff of Telecommunications Managers and Telecommunications Specialists.
  • You will review plans developed by other agencies to determine impact on Navy operations and employment of Satellite Communications.
  • You will develop operating procedures, or revise existing procedures, when required by change in existing systems or operating environments.

Qualifications: Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience conducting top-level assessments of satellite communication plans, operational activities and policies. -Experience coordinating, establishing and managing contracts for personnel and services. -Experience planning, directing and administering the work of a division. -Experience planning, programming, and managing budgets for operational commands. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level SENIOR, Series and Grade GG-0391-14.
