Major Duties:

  • You will oversee the administration of Base Level Information Infrastructure (BLII) systems and related services used by activities in the Commander, Naval Activities, Italy (EUCOM, AFRICOM, C6F) Area of Responsibility.
  • You will operate and defend mission critical, Navy-warfighting networks and communications systems necessary for U.S. Naval, theaters of operation.
  • You will develop policies and procedures relative to the planning, procurement, implementation, operation, maintenance and distribution of base voice and data infrastructure, fixed, and other telecommunication services.
  • You will be responsible for establishing long- and short-range planning to ensure existing and future telecommunications meet, or exceed Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station(NCTS) Naples, Italy and tenant activities mission requirements.
  • You will direct evaluations of telecommunications systems to assure adequate and cost effective services are being provided to meet customer requirements.
  • You will as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for review of local Military Construction (MILCON) projects to ensure that telecommunications requirements are addressed and installed to industry standards.

Qualifications: Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by 1) Providing technical guidance of telecommunication systems, services, equipment and facilities to include base telephone switching systems, data transmission, video, network facilities, and base communications infrastructure facilities; 2) Analyzing communications program requirements to develop policies and procedures and recommending methods for enhancing the efficiency of telecommunications; and 3) Monitoring the performance of telecommunications contracts and evaluating telecommunications systems to ensure adequate and cost effective services are being provided.
