About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director, as part of the Payments Technology.

Global Payments Technology organization is seeking an experienced Technology Director for leading Payments and Fraud Product Service. The Payments & Fraud services provide critical Payments/Fraud workflows for domestic and international payment types. The technology manager will manage key application design, development, support, and end to end lifecycle management for Treasury Management customers and other Lines of business.


In this role, you will:

  • Assist development team of experienced engineers with moderate complexity and risk, responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology

  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release

  • Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architecture

  • Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards

  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high risk deliverables and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement

  • Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as needed

  • Interpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk

  • Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices

  • Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers

  • Identify AI solutions and strategies for speed to market and optimized payment solutions

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI applications using Enterprise APIs, LLM's, agent frameworks, and other related technologies 

  • Collaborate with enterprise teams to integrate LLM models with the existing products and systems

  • Develop and maintain large scale applications using Java, Python, OpenShift containers, and other relevant technologies 

  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, LLM second agentic frameworks and apply this knowledge to improve existing systems and develop new ones

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to applications and models


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

  • 7+ years of experience Strong understanding of Service-Oriented and microservices architectures and user Interface design

  • 7+ years' experience in software development using modern technologies including Java, relational and non-relational databases, messaging, distributed caching, OpenShift containers, Python, and other relevant technologies

  • 7+ years of experience with the agile development methodologies, CICD pipelines and version control systems such as GIT

  • 3+ years of AI and ML concepts, including deep learning, natural language processing, Ai-enabled code generation


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Must be able to work on multiple projects in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations

  • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change

  • Proficient in monitoring and observability tools like Splunk and Grafana

  • Strong understanding of middleware and application server concepts like Integration, Transactions and XA transaction, Security, Connection pooling, Load balancing and Messaging; clustered server environment and familiar with system performance related tasks

  • Must have excellent communications and teamwork skills, be self-directed, self-motivated, committed, and a quick learner.

  • Knowledge of Chatbots, Transformer models, SWE-Bench is preferred 

  • Certifications in AI, machine learning or a related field

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams

  • Experience with Payment Systems – ACH, and/or Wires strongly preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence or a related field ​

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$224,000.00 - $398,000.00
