Role Overview

As a Technician in Fan Blade Manufacturing, you will be part of a high-precision aerospace production environment, working on the manufacturing of hollow titanium fan blades used in Rolls-Royce aircraft engines.

This role operates within a tightly controlled, quality-critical environment where consistency, discipline, and attention to detail are essential. You will be trained across multiple processes and technologies, including CNC machining, thermal processes, non-destructive testing (NDT), and automated production systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor advanced manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, furnaces, automated robotic systems, and process lines
  • Perform precision manufacturing tasks on high-value aerospace components, ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards
  • Work within a cleanroom environment across processes such as bonding, etching, and non-destructive testing (e.g. X-ray, FPI, ultrasonic testing)
  • Interpret technical drawings, including 3D feature drawings, and execute operations in line with engineering specifications
  • Use precision measurement tools (e.g. vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify component quality and tolerances
  • Follow detailed technique sheets, standard operating procedures, and quality documentation with high discipline
  • Identify and escalate any deviations, defects, or process issues in a timely manner
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and process optimisation activities
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and operational discipline on the shop floor

Work Environment

  • Cleanroom and controlled manufacturing environment
  • Shift-based operations, including overtime, weekends, and public holidays
  • Role requires standing for extended periods and working with precision tools and equipment
  • Exposure to a structured, safety- and quality-driven aerospace manufacturing culture

Qualifications & Experience

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
  • Open to fresh graduates with relevant hands-on training, internships, or project experience in manufacturing or engineering environments

What We Are Looking For

Technical Fit:

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, or assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (2D/3D) and follow technical instructions
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools and quality checks is an advantage
