What You Will Be Doing:

As a Technical Writer on the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will help elevate documentation to a core discipline within manufacturing engineering. You'll work cross-functionally to research processes, gather complex technical details, and produce clear, precise, and accessible documentation that supports production excellence. Your expertise will improve operations, enhance standardization, and ensure long-term knowledge retention across the organization. You will report directly to the Production Manager of Cap Manufacturing at our Everett, WA facility.

You Will:

  • Author comprehensive work instructions used by production manufacturing and test operations in a high-complexity manufacturing environment
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to refine build sequences, process flow, and tool documentation for improved efficiency
  • Lead the creation and release of documentation for new product lines in partnership with design and manufacturing engineering
  • Develop Job Hazard Assessments, safety procedures, and department-wide specifications to meet compliance standards
  • Build standardized documentation templates and work instruction formats for capacitor manufacturing
  • Establish standardization rules, best practices, and style guidelines for technical documentation
  • Manage documentation systems, including PDMs, SDS databases, folder structures, and accessibility within MES systems
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior writers and engineers contributing to documentation
  • Improve documentation practices and support strategic plans within Manufacturing Engineering
  • Manage a system for continuous improvement for documentation, managing multiple projects at once

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience authoring technical content within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience translating complex technical information into concise, and applicable documentation for production teams
  • Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to technical accuracy and clarity
  • Proficiency in documentation tools and systems such as Microsoft Office, Confluence, SharePoint, or equivalent platforms
  • Familiarity with electrical/mechanical component production processes
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) documentation within an engineering or production setting
  • Experience with tool development, lifecycle activities, tools and processes

Helion's compensation package includes a competitively benchmarked base salary, meaningful equity grants, and comprehensive benefits. Final compensation is determined through a holistic evaluation of your experience, qualifications, and our commitment to internal equity - ensuring fairness and transparency across our teams. We are committed to fostering a fair and equitable environment in every aspect of our operations, including compensation.

This is an exempt salaried role.

Annual Base Pay
$79,000$104,000 USD
